Happy Young Children and Sleep.

We took our 2 year old to the Natural History Museum, he loved it obviously Dinosaurs being his favourite. He was still very excited about his day on the underground trains (tube) and the museum when he went to bed. From it I have the solution to help young children sleep, it is called Dinosaur Therapy, after an hour after bedtime with him still moaning in his cot, I went up to his room with a little plastic dinosaur, I placed it on his pillow and told him he had to take great care with his T-Rex friend, gave the little Dino and my son a kiss and left the room, we didn't hear a murmur aftewards. Anyone else have any tips for little children and sleep, as you know I have CD's to help older children but only relaxing CDs for the younger ones. http://www.hypnosishealthcare.com/seashoreebedtime.html Do you think dino-therapy will catch on?We shall see how well it works tonight, before we start up our dinosaur therapy practice. (rachael)

Oh yes, Rachael, I aggree! I have so often thought I have found the answer and then it all goes pear shaped as they say!! Hope the Dino frined does work for you every night though! Be interested to hear how you get on. (Purple)

t-rex therapy (name change) is still doing ok although he took his time getting to sleep :) (charles vald)

Great news! Long may it last! :) (Purple)

glad it's working for you :) our 10 yr old boy was up at 1am asking about death. 14 yr old daughter, who woke up at midnight, having been asleep all afternoon and evening, managed to reasure him and back to bed. awwww. we're back to the ME/CFS service today to discuss her sleep problems, and waiting for her prescription for melatonin. It takes a while to come through as it has to be authorised by the hospital medical director. We could order it from US or Eire, but prefer to have medical supervision. - Katya (blue-kat)

How you are getting on? (charles vald)

My daughter was on Melatonin trouble is we found she went to sleep really fast often stll holding her book ! but would wake at 4am. We adjusted the time that we gave it to her at night but she liked 4am. Relaxing CD's and alleviating worries earlier on in the evening have proved a better answer for our 8 year old. Not sleeping enough but the when she reaches 14 I will probably moan that I cant get her out of bed ! Hope it going well (Sunbeam)

Our nearly 6 yr old is still not sleeping early but we do now have story CD's for her and she really likes them - birthday on 1st May so more will be arriving for her then!!! :D At least she stays in her room more now even if she isn't actualy sleeping! (Purple)
