The greatest happiness?

[color=blue:2a4cc88c91] For me, the greatest happiness is seeing others happy, and feeling that I've had a positive part in it, whether recognised or not. I believe that our minds and bodies can conspire to make us unhappy. We want this, we feel we should be doing that, our bodies ache, someone hurts us. All those things are illusion. When have you truly felt 'in the moment'? It might have been today, when you experienced your child's laughter or saw a wonderful flower or made love with your partner. At that moment, we 'connect' with our 'light body', ego is set aside, we feel neither mind (left brain - nasty) or body; we 'feel one with creation' to put it blandly; we experience true love. The happiness we feel from contributing to the wellbeing of those around us is like that. We are transported out of our bodies; it's possible to feel great without guilt or fear. Try it little by little and extend it a bit each time. The world will love you for it! :) J. x[/color:2a4cc88c91]That's a lovely, inspiring post FruitBat, I found myself positively glowing and expanding with your enthusiasm. I wonder why our body-mind should conspire to make us unhappy? I mean, what could the point in that be? Other than to teach us that we have the choice to transcend the illusions perhaps........ I love the 'in the moment' part of your post. Erkhart Tolle's book 'The power of now' is a fascinating and helpful read on that. Part of my 'me time' involves fully indulging in the now - this morning I sat on the front doorstep listening to the Church bells and hearing the birdsong - it was a truly 'holy moment' as one might say, if they were into the film 'Waking Life' I noticed everything around me; most especially how my life was richly abundant in so many ways. I even wrote in my journal "I look around me and how could I possibly want or need more? I am surrounded by beauty, life, abundance, miracles and love." From that experience, I am able to go out into the world and offer the energy of that to other people - much like the butterfly effect. You're so right; and you've helped me see something in a different light: I used to think that if I felt good from helping someone else, I wasn't helping altrustically, my ego was getting in the way. From reading your post I see it more as 'what goes round comes round' - Much more healthy! wingsoflove (wingsoflove)
