Smiley moments

I have a photo album in my mind of special moments, when my camera either didn't work, was out of film or simply at home.
Yesterday, after shopping, I walked round the local harbour. There is a footpath circling the inner harbour with estuary/ reclaimed land on the other side. On a grassy island were a pair of swans with 5 fluffy cygnets. The parents were feeding and barreling their way through the grass with their chests. The cygnets were trying to copy but having such trouble trying to walk through grass that was taller than they were. Their webbed feet were not helping at all and had the footpath not been on much higher ground, they would have been totally invisible.
Needless to say , when I went back with camera and a friend, they were nowhere in sight.
Whenever I see a dignified swan swimming around, I will remember these babies.

What a lovely story!
Most of my smiley moments involve children or animals.
We rescue ex battery hens and one cannot help but smile every day when I go up the garden and see these beautiful creatures dust bathing and pecking at the ground, stretching out their wings etc; which previously they were unable to do. They couldnt even walk when we got them. Now they are free range and having a wonderful life - makes me smile soooo much! :D (Purple)Awww :) So how do we get some of these free range eggs.
I am sure other people on the board would want them as well

Well, if you are ever on the Isle of Wight feel free to pop in and get some of my 'Happy Eggs' as we call them - now these lovely girls are happy and smiling themslevs having been almost for the chop!
I am coordinator for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight for the Battery Hen Welfare Trust and hope to promote welfare for these darling creatures.
These girls really are happy and smiley all day long now!!! :D (Purple)
