Prices some hypnotherapists charge

I had a customer phone me up with someone who wanted to charge her I think it worked out as 300 pounds for 6 hours and this isn't Central London, and this is for simple stop smoking. I suppose being able to stop smoking at any price is worth it, but this is rather pricey. What is the regular price then? I do not have a clue. I imagine it is different dependant on where one is. My plan for when I am qualified is to ring around and find out prices locally so I can compare and compete. What do any of you qualified practtioners charge per hour / session? (Purple)

very hard but 30 - 50 pounds an hour isn't uncommon, much more for Harley Street, where you are not always paying for a good therapist just feel you are due to the location The problem is a lot of patients are on low wages, some even pretend they have no money when this is not the case, it makes life very hard for the therapist as most obviously offer a discount, or even free for people who do not have the money to pay. There is a balance if hypnotherapy if it is your living. (charles vald)

Charles, I can understand your challenge of trying to help someone who has little money. However, I say that you should charge everyone the true value that you believe you and your 'product' are worth. If you charge less, then you reduce the chance of your work doing good. You may well do exactly the same for two different people, but I'd bet in most cases, the one who pay the proper value, gets the best results. I attended a personal development seminar once, and someone challenged the speaker. They said if the speaker really wanted to help people, why charge for the seminar - it should be free. The reply went as follows. The people who get it for nothing (eg there were people at the seminar who had the event paid for by their company - ie free), in general, get less out of it. If you [b:d205c342ac]really[/b:d205c342ac] want something (ANYTHING!), you'll find the money and when you do, the motivation to enjoy, get 'value', etc is far greater. I'd be interested in your findings from your clients. If you 'help' someone by charging less, in general, I would expect them not to get as much benefit. Of couse there will be exceptions, but I bet this will hold true for many cases. I've done some training in NLP myself, and it is SO down to people's beliefs. Pay very little and your expectations will be less. You will simply value the event, item, or whatever, less than if pay more for exactly the same thing. Wierd, illogical (yes, aren't we all!), but true. Dave (Dave T)

I don't think you can boil the value down to the price people pay. we are all on different incomes. £10 may be worth a lot more to a low income young family with kids under 5 who struggle with weekly bills compared to a someone with higher earnings, paid off mortgage, less outgoings etc. OTOH it can be important to 'ratify' any services with some payment, or alternative transaction, as agree that freebies can be taken for granted.
