I woke up this morning to hear the headline news on the bbc, it is so great!!! :)
A vaccine has been trialed for cervical cancer and has been found to be 100% effective.
274,000 lives a year could be saved!!!!Interesting, however, I don't think I'll be getting the vaccine! This study, from what I have been reading makes the huge assumption that this cancer is caused by a virus. Hmmmmm. *if* it is caused by a virus, then there are many more savoury (and safe) ways to get rid of it than pumping our bodies with a cocktail of chemicals. Cancer prevention, imo, is not as simple as taking a vaccine.
Just like the mass immunisation of children which claims to wipe out childhood diseases. These diseases are still prevelent and I don't believe for one moment that less children die these days from measles etc *because* of vaccines - they survive because our knowledge of handling diseases and quality of sanitisation is better than it was 100 years ago.
It appears to me, yet another ploy for a drugs company to make lots of money. Good luck to them and I would be delighted to be proved wrong.

A vaccine just a way of getting your immune system to recognise something as foreign, isn't it?
We have other vaccines through out our lives, if this is found to be safe (which I know won't be known for 10 or 20 year) and the studies do state 100% success rate, don't you feel it sounds very good. [color=blue:e44d65b78b]We used to have vaccines pumped into us, but it's right and proper that we question why doctors insist on pumping a witch's brew of foreign chemicals (apologies in advance to any witches - in general I'd prefer a witch to ten professors of medicine) into us at a whim. Most couldn't answer the point.
When is a vaccine 'found to be safe'? Certainly long after every ten year old girl in the country has been injected with this wonder drug.

Well, that's what the medical profession might tell you I suppose and yes, that's the theory.
We are told, of course, that vaccines are there to protect us against disease (now that already gets me going, because it is making the ASSumption that we are not already perfect and whole, and fully capable of defending ourselves from invading organisms if we lead a positive lifestyle, but that's a whole 'nother topic).
Does anyone here like cooking? I *love* cooking - here's my latest recipe:
1 chick embryo
1 shot formaldehyde
a bit of monosodium glutamate
a drizzle of rabbit brain
1/2 dogs kidney
a few aborted human foetus cells
a dash of mercury
mix it together, put it in a syringe and stick it into the nearest 4 month old.

Yes, the majority of people do have vaccines throughout their lives but we also once trusted that thalidomide was safe, that British beef was safe and we just blindly trust that vaccines are ok too - if the vaccine was purely the virus or pathogen that we are supposed to be protected from, then they just *might* be ok. As you can see from my favourite recipe above, the fillers are more toxic than the viral component!
The other problem as I see it (and you only need to look at the failure rate of the 'flu shots to realise this) is that the strain of pathogen in the vaccines isn't always the same as the naturally acquired strain.
God invented us with a pretty cool immune system designed to do the job and Cancer is a 20th century illness due to lifestyle.
The best way we can strengthen our children's immune system is not through some laboratory derived vaccine (some are not simply the dead or live pathogen btw, but they are *genetically engineered*), but to let them eat mud, pooh, fresh fruit and vegetables. To breast feed them on demmand until the stuff comes out of their ears and to never let a vaccine near them. We only have to look at the number of children who are fully vaccinated and go on to get measles or mumps for example to see that they simply do not work. I cannot see that it will be any other way for this cancer-vaccine either.
