Self Hypnosis is Safe
[Back]
If you think of self hypnosis as deep relaxation you can understand that the worst thing that can happen is you fall asleep.
You might have noticed on my Hypnosis CDs that if you suffer from Epilepsy that you should not use the CD without speaking to your doctor first, the reason behind this is that in some rare forms of Epilepsy the simple act of relaxation can cause a reaction.

Talking of such things; is it better to listen to a cd during the day or at night before bed?
The reason I ask is that I tend to enjoy using hypnosis as a *way* of getting to sleep; my belief being that it will be just as effective, if not more effective because your conscious mind is well and truly out of the way (I think that belief stems from school, where we were told to record ourselves reading through text books, and to listen to the tapes as we were falling asleep!)
So, I'm wondering if it is more beneficial to bring yourself around afterwards and go on about your day, or whether it is better to fall asleep listening to the hypnosis?

That is very interesting - I look forward to others views on that one.
My wife has listended to a weight loss hypnosis CD at bed time before but it brings her back round at the end and although she is feeling relaxed she then cannot get off to sleep so she has found it better to use at another time of the day. (James)
